Unacas – The Unaccompanied Children’s and Widows Association

Unacas is a small Government registered Khmer NGO that was founded in the early 1990s by a single Khmer lady named Madame Sakada.  She was concerned to help the unaccompanied children and widows in Phnom Penh after the terrors caused by Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge.

Unacas still cares for widows and unaccompanied children, many of whom are orphans.  It encourages these young people to complete Year 12 at school if they can, and then to study either at University or learn a skilled trade, so that they can be gainfully employed and “give back” to Cambodian society.

If you would like to donate to UNACAS please go to our donation button.

We do not list or provide photos of students for direct sponsorship for safety reasons and to protect young people from possible exploitation.
