University Sponsorship

As an organization we want to help ensure young people are educated by pursuing a university or tertiary course, or vocational training.

University sponsorship is a great way to help give a young person from a poor community the chance of a brighter future.

Our activities focus on enpowering young people and can include:

  • advocacy - to secure their access to services

  • education- opportunities for students to go to university or participate in non-formal or vocational education

  • healthcare - assisting access to healthcare facilities if needed

  • accommodation - supporting students in shared accommodation

  • personal/economic development - providing vocational mentoring and skills to support transition to work

Students participate in the decisions that affect their lives.

How does university sponsorship work?

Sponsorship covers the cost of food, clothing and accommodation, as well as tertiary study or training costs.

How much does it cost to sponsor a student?

For 2020 the cost of sponsoring a student is $3,500 Australian dollars annually. This usually needs to be paid by the end of July of the year university commences so that arrangements can be properly put in place.

Generally, we would hope this is a four year commitment to ensure the student can complete their course.
